Faststream are working with a large, international constituent of the FTSE 250 Index that provides services to the marine industry that has an opportunity for an experienced ship manager. The position involves weekly travel around Europe and the UK as well as the ability to work from home
Ship Managers are responsible for all aspects of vessel operational readiness, capability & safety, ensuring full compliance with the company SMS and Third party stakeholder requirements.
Reporting to the Operations Director on all matters of the vessel’s operational management including the preparation and execution of the vessels docking.
You will undertake ride on, pre-vettings, vettings, terminal visits and attend Class surveys as detailed within the SMS and manage small repair periods, surveys, inspections and servicing of vessels and their equipment.
You will also conduct inspections and write up reports on the condition of the vessel and associated equipment and enter reports and findings into the PMS (AMOS) system.
You should have:
*4 years previous experience as a superintendent within the tanker market.
*Class 2 Min marine Engineer preferably a chief engineer however.
*You must be willing to travel and have a lot of self-motivation / drive.
The right candidate will receive:
*£63 – £65K per year.
*Car allowance of £500 per month or Car.
