The Maritime & Coastguard Agency aims to be the best maritime safety organisation in the world.  We are seeking experienced and capable Surveyors to help us realise this vision.

No two days are the same for our Marine Surveyors. You will be required to survey, inspect and audit a variety of different vessels to ensure UK and International Regulations are being met, delivering exceptional customer service alongside experienced colleagues.

Successful candidates will have sufficient experience within the maritime industry and will usually come from one of the following disciplines:

  • Engineer Discipline
    Engineer Surveyor: FV Class 1 Certificate of Competency (Engineer); or
    Engineer Surveyor: MCA Recognised STCW III/2 Second Engineer unlimited Certificate of Competency;
  • Nautical Discipline
    Nautical Surveyor: FV Class 1 Certificate of Competency (Deck); or
    Nautical Surveyor: MCA Recognised STCW II/2 Chief Officer unlimited Certificate of Competency
  • Naval Architect Discipline
    A degree accredited by RINA/SNAME as meeting the academic qualifications for Incorporated Engineer
  • Ship Discipline
    An engineering degree accredited by IMarEST / IMechE as meeting the academic qualifications for Incorporated Engineer
