LNG STS Superintendent (6-8 Month Contract)

Rotation: 4 Weeks on/off

Position Summary

The LNG STS Superintendent is to promote high operating standards and best industry practice in gas tankers and terminals throughout our client base and to facilitate the exchange of technical information and experience, between members of the LNG STS team, to enhance the safety and operational reliability of LNG STS transfers and terminal operations.As LNG STS Superintendent you will provide technical advice and support for the team whilst representing the collective interest of LNG STS in technical and operational matters.

Major Responsibilities

  • Attend and oversee proceedings at LNG STS transfers and onsite operations at Terminals.
  • Resolve appropriate issues that are liquefied gas related, or other significant marine developments, which might have significant impact on LNG STS.
  • Carry out related activities include submission of documents to clients, review and contribution to department submissions, interventions during proceedings where appropriate, and monitoring of deliberations in order to feedback developments to clients.
  • Where appropriate to represent client interests in the development of international and European standards, through the company’s involvement with the relevant committees and meetings.
  • Encourage eligible companies within the liquefied gas industries to apply for LNG STS as a knowledge base and actively participate in its work.
  • Facilitate and organise the LNG STS transfer equipment as required by the General Manager, so it is onsite and ready for work.

 

Requirements, Knowledge and Skills

  • Seagoing experience, ideally senior rank and/or shore experience with a shipping company within a comparable field
  • Alternatively, operational or technical management experience at a liquefied gas marine terminal or similar.
  • The ability to liaise on technical matters with representatives of clients, governmental bodies and others.
  • A working knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with office management procedures and basic accounting principles.

 

Physical and Language Requirements

  • This is a physically challenging role and must be able to climb a pilot ladder
  • Be willing to work in extreme cold weather conditions
  • Good level of English (spoken and written)
