Lecturer/Senior Lecturer Ship Handling & Pilotage

37 hours per week

UK’s largest ship and port simulation training centre is coming to the Warsash School of Maritime Science and Engineering where we will enhance our portfolio of courses in maritime education, training and consultancy to the shipping and port industries across a variety of academic and professional disciplines.

As part of our significant investment in a new state of the art Maritime Simulation and Digital learning suite the School is looking to recruit enthusiastic and experienced maritime professionals.

We are seeking a Lecturer /Senior Lecturer in ship handling and pilotage in our new Maritime Simulation, It is full-time position. Applications are invited from enthusiastic and experienced maritime professionals with seagoing, pilotage, ship handling and maritime teaching experience who is in possession of a minimum of STCW class 1 Management level CoC or relevant equivalent industrial / professional Experience. Experience in Passenger ship handling or STS or port operations and current knowledge in Dangerous Cargo equipment and gas tanker operational procedures would be an advantage.

Academic qualifications to degree level or academic background with research or teaching experience is desirable but not essential as the successful applicant will be supported in completing a Post Graduate teaching qualification.

Some weekend / unsocial hours and UK/International travel may be required.
