We are looking to recruit Chief Officers/ 1st Mates to join our teams in Portsmouth and Ryde on a Fixed Term Contract starting April to cover our Summer period. The successful candidates will preferably hold a Master or Chief Mate Certificate of Competency although a minimum Officer of the Watch Unlimited Certificate is acceptable. You will ideally have previous experience working with passengers.
Key elements of the role are:
- Ability to lead a Team effectively and communication across all grades is essential.
- Overseeing the Deck department, including managing the safe and efficient control of passenger and vehicle loading,
- Ensuring the Deck Crew meet all relevant statutory requirements
- Acting as the interface between the Master and Ship’s crew.
In addition to professional skills and qualifications you will be extremely customer focused, empathetic and able to motivate your Crew to deliver excellent customer service.
As a Chief Officer or 1st Mate you will be employed on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract to cover our Summer period from April 2021. Working a notional 35 hour week you will be required to work across all days of the week including weekends and Bank Holidays.
