We’re the UK’s largest ports operator with a network of 21 ports around Britain. We handle around one quarter of the UK’s seaborne trade and contribute £7.5 billion to our economy every year.
It’s a story we’re proud of but it doesn’t end there. We’re transforming our business and embracing the future.
We offer a vast range of roles spanning the UK, all rooted in a culture that welcomes diversity, fosters talent, encourages internal movement and progression, and places safety as our number one priority.
Day to day duties will include the supervision of a small Marine team and you will make a key contribution to the provision of a quality Marine and Port service to our customers. You will also be receiving training to become a competent Pilot within the ABP Lowestoft CHA. Once authorised as a pilot you will be working on a fixed rostered system. The job will require a flexible and committed approach, and performing a variety of other marine related tasks, including the deputising for the Harbour Master in his absence.
Ideally, you will be in possession Master’s Certificate of Competency (STCW 11/2 over 3000 GT) or equivalent marine qualification. Previous pilotage experience and/or demonstrable ship handling skills, and experience of port operations would be a significant advantage.
Closing date for completed applications is the 31st of July 2020
