Assistant Harbour Master (Dredging)

Salary commencing £32,305 per annum

(pay award pending)

The primary role is to command and ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Council’s dredging system, and also to assist with port management and general operations of the Authority’s harbours; Whitby, Scarborough and Filey.  Applicants must have a minimum qualification to act as Master <500t with previous command experience.

The vessel has no accommodation therefore the role is predominantly day work Mon-Fri. A generous relocation package is available where appropriate.  The position will occasionally require the successful applicant to undertake periods of external contractual dredging works for which additional payments will be made.  (Dredging experience is an advantage but not essential full training will be provided).
