We have an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated and suitably qualified person to head up the Isle of Man's sea fisheries enforcement team. We are looking for someone with enforcement experience,strong team management abilities and, with a flexible and focused attitude.

The Fisheries Directorate is responsible for the management and protection of fisheries and their supporting ecosystems within the Isle of Man and the territorial sea.  Working with stakeholders, the Directorate aims to develop innovative and dynamic fisheries management measures that seek to balance the economic, environmental and social needs of the Isle of Man.

The Senior Sea Fisheries Officer has responsibility for leading a team of officers in the effective enforcement of sea fisheries legislation within the Isle of Man territorial sea and ashore and taking command of the Department's fisheries patrol vessel.

The role requires the post holder to hold valid certificates of competency appropriate to the sea-going role and practical experience of operating a vessel at sea, along with experience in a relevant enforcement role and proven experience in managing a team.

We are looking for someone with great communication and interpersonal skills, who is able to build positive working relationships with team members, senior managers, political members and industry representatives.
