My client is a world-leading provider of comprehensive solutions, software applications, and services for the maritime industry. Operating more than 20 international regional offices as well as its network of partners serving customers globally. The Academy which the company use for the solutions' testing and running the training courses for its customers are now looking for a Marine Engineering Instructor for the Commercial Maritime Industry.

The role…

*To provide support to the management of the Academy and to develop, design and deliver in matters of engineering training in the functionality of technical simulation.
*To provide a confident ability to develop, design and deliver in matters of engineering training in advanced vessel systems monitoring and training equipment.
*To provide support to develop, design and deliver in matters of commercially designated engineering training at an approved commercial level.
*To undertake occasional international travel in support of training and remote matters

The person…

*STCW III/2 including validity within previous ten(10) years
*PGCPE or equivalent formal professional teaching qualification.
*A Technical related degree [Minimum UK level 2.1 or above (OU), 1st Class (Standard)]
*UK National passport holder / resident
*A minimum of five(5) years senior engineering experience (management level) in a commercial vessel over 50,000 TDwt.
*A minimum of five(5) years experience at a senior rank (minimum 2nd Engineer Officer or Chief Engineer Officer) in commercial Oil/Gas (LPG or LNG) vessels or OIM (offshore installations).
*A minimum of three(3) years teaching experience within a commercial business environment.
*Specialist knowledge of ship operations as a Technical Superintendent [minimum two(2) years]
*Specialist knowledge of shipboard- structural and functional engineering and/or electrotechnical engineering within a ship design environment.
*Specialist knowledge of FPSO/FSO at OIM/Operations management level
*A competent fluency in both written and spoken English language as a 1st language, with an additional desirable competent fluency in both written and spoken form of a 2nd language eg. Spanish.
*A substantially skilled and effective presenter, with a fully integrated academic and collaborative teaching competence.
*Self-motivated with the ability to innovate in a dynamic and technically advanced environment.

Note:- This will initially be on a consultant basis with the potential of leading to a full time staff position.
