The Role

*Monitor the validity of all class, flag and international certificates.

*Attend and follow up all class surveys as well as all surveys.

*Draw and follow up an adequate maintenance program for engine room, hull, piping, deck, cargo, electrical and machinery.
*Specify work to be carried out by crew, riding teams and contractors and ensure its prompt and cost effective execution.
*Maintain records for maintenance status and progress in the above areas.
*Evaluate vessel performance analysis and ensure that corrective actions and follow up are promptly carried out.
*Maintain and monitor inventories of spare parts, tools and instruments.

*Liaise with yards, contractors and vessel for carrying out repairs as necessary.

*Before dry-docking, draw up a complete repair specification and submit specification with budgeted cost.

*During dry-docking, ensure proper and cost effective execution of all works and maintain records of repairs. Prepare report in standard Company format.

*Guide and assist the Chief Engineer on matters related with the correct operation of the machinery.

*To carry out two sailing visits annually and produce sailing visit reports, these ship visits are to be planned to ensure that the vessel is inspected within a six month time period.

*Weekly reporting to Owners

*Dry dock, insurance and repair reports as required

*Assist with vetting responses and incident reports
