Position Summary

The group provides a variety of support expertise that will focus on longer term strategies and projects as well as providing oversight of Technical Managers on any day-to-day issues.

Major Responsibilities

*Treat Health, Safety and Environment as top priority.
*Drive operational leadership.
*Provide a general oversight of the technical managers of the gas vessels including performance, budgets, class and legislation, vetting and HSEQ performance.
*Provide cost oversight for Owners by close tracking of actual opex vs budget and review and approval of additional cost items as required.
*Provide technical input to managers where required and review dry dock work scopes provided by Technical Managers.
*Carry out audits of the managers as required.
*Maintain an overview of the maintenance and upkeep of the gas vessels, both from facilitation of physical inspection and review of appropriate reports submitted by Technical Managers.

*Work closely with all members of the team and liaise closely with managers of the gas vessels.
*Develop and maintain relationships with strategic vendors and other industry professionals.
*Participate in the development of junior staff by active mentoring/coaching.

*Ensure cost leadership practices are embedded in research and solution.
*Participate in budget preparation, lifecycle and drydock projections.
*Review quarterly budget variances and follow up with managers as required.
*Review and manage Capex requests from Technical Managers.

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

*Education and experience as a marine engineer on LPG/ multigas / chemical vessels. Senior Officer experience is preferred however candidates with Senior Certificate of Competence will be considered.
*Knowledge of applicable propulsion plants and technical operations for the vessels operated.
*Analytical, problem solving, time management, project management and decision making skills.
*Ability to respond positively to customers in an effective manner.
*Demonstrates teamwork, interpersonal and communications skills.
