Our client is a truly global brand and industry leader with over 200 Marine Engineers supporting the marine lubricants business, due to continued growth they are now looking to add a Technical Specialist to their UK based team.

The role…

Technical responsibilities…

-Responsible for the technical activity of the area.
-Reports on used oil analysis.
-Is in charge of Lubrication Charts.
-Performs ship visits on behalf of own customers and network customers for courtesy reasons, solves technical problems and collects performance data.
-Deals with shipyards and marine equipment manufacturers on approvals for new buildings of contracted vessels.
-Manages field tests and approval processes, in conjunction with the Central Marine Technical Team, and OEM's.
-Collects all types of technical/market information, defines the needs of our customers and proposes improvements of services.
-Arranges technical seminars for customers and prospects
-In conjunction with Country Manager defines the UK Office business strategy and helps prepare the action plan for each account.

Commercial responsibilities…

-Brings technical knowledge as added value to the sales negotiations/agreements and their revision (addendum, prices, conditions…) in line with the approval of the local Country and/or Zone Manager.
-Prepares, in line with approval of the Country & Zone Manager, the answers and the offers of the tenders (within those key targets).
-Collects and analyses market information. Reports on a monthly basis about his results and his KPI, follow-up of the competition and the markets.
-Apply and promote the group policy (quality, safety, code of conduct…).
-With the Support of the Country Manager, create a list of New Customer Prospects, in order to increase the Market share.

The person…

-2nd or 3rd Marine Engineer
-Degree in Marine Engineering desirable
-24-7 International Business flexibility.
-Adaption to many different cultures.
-High Standard of Customer Support.
-Expertise in Lubricants and Marine equipment.
-Located in Luton with National mobility/ Organization / Flexibility / Autonomy.
