Our client is a leading marine technology business; due to an exciting level of business growth there is a need to recruit an experienced Systems / Project Engineer with a strong background in Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC services within the marine and/or offshore industry. The company is seeking a candidate who can develop Systems Engineering capability working alongside their Naval Architecture and Supply Chain teams.

Key Responsibilities:
-Project Engineering & Delivery
-Project manages system implementations - managing subcontractors and liaising with shipyards
-Liaises with customer delivery teams
-Sales Engineering Support
-Specifies ventilation, pipework and electrical requirements as part of the overall system design to ensure the system meets its design specification
-Supports procurement activity to source and select installation partners and equipment
-Product Development
-Provides input and feedback for on-going product development Core Competencies

Experience and Requirements:

Core Competencies:
-Strong project management skills backed up by formal training
-Experience of Outfitting projects & System integration in a marine/offshore environment
-System engineering - design of Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC requirements from overboard valve up to automation / IT system
-Present technical and commercial arguments effectively and influence others with regard to such issues;
-Actively build good relationships internally and with customers and sub-contractors;
-Anticipate issues and resolve problems in a timely and effective manner;
-Prioritise work to meet business demands and manage to deadlines;
-Entrepreneurial aware, able to self-manage, collaborative and transparent approach
-Fluent written and spoken English and the right to work in the U.K.

Desirable Experience:
-Minimum of 7-8 years post qualification experience gained with a sector leading company (shipbuilding group, shipping company, marine/offshore OEM) or an installation contractor in the marine/offshore sectors
-Experience of leading successful retrofit implementations of new technologies such as Scrubbers or Ballast Water Systems is highly desirable
-Experience of managing projects during dry docking and travelling crew installations
-Exposure to LNG carriers and cruise shipping would also be a major plus

-Degree level or equivalent with a suitable qualification encompassing Mechanical, Marine, Electrical or related engineering degree
-Post graduate qualification and membership of professional institutions will be an advantage
