My client are a well established Port Authority operating in the South East of the UK who manage one of the busiest waterways in the UK with extensive commercial and leisure traffic operating on the water at any time. In addition to managing the local waterway my client also has a significant presence in the area in training, commercial training, commercial facilities and consultation services. Due to continual development my client are looking to appoint a Deputy Marine Officer.

The role I have is for a Deputy Marine Officer who will be responsible for Auditing, Surveying and inspections on my clients vessels and other vessels operating commercially within the Port Authorities jurisdiction. The Deputy Marine Officer will go on to ensure that the Port Authorities vessels all comply with their own licensing and comply with MCA standards. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the surveying, hold a maritime deck qualification (including Boatmasters), Lead Auditor qualification and ideally hold an affiliation with a surveying institute.

As this is a contract role for a period of 6 months, my client are offering a competitive day rate inline with the requirements of this role. Furthermore, as this is a 6 month contract only EU passport holders will be considers as sponsorship is not available for this role.
