My client is currently recruiting for new Field Service Engineers across the South and Midlands with a focus on High Speed Separators.

Their team of Field Service Engineers are on the front line of customer support, carrying out servicing and maintenance of the company equipment and associated products. The Field Service Engineers must ensure a high quality service to customers at all times.

About the job

Based in 1 of 2 keys areas you will be home based attending customer sites, typically within your region but also across the UK and Ireland as required. Overnight stays are a regular occurrence as part of this role and some of our activities may require you to work offshore. You will also be expected to participate in our 24 hour call out system and work some weekends.

Working on high speed rotating equipment and other associated equipment, such as Plate heat exchangers, Pumps, Valves and Ballast Water Systems in our customer's process operations, this will cover both mechanical and electrical aspects.

Your duties will include

Servicing, inspecting and fault finding of existing equipment and commissioning of new equipment.
Ensuring all equipment used has the correct certification - lifting equipment, electrical equipment and tooling

Working with the sales team on equipment audits on customer sites to generate new business, meeting KPIs for the service team in areas such as submission of job reports and timesheets

Your profile

Candidates for this role should have completed a recognised apprenticeship, or have reached a minimum level of technical training i.e. City and Guilds/NVQ/BTEC.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate a strong working background in mechanical maintenance, ideally with high speed separators would be beneficial but not essential. Electrical control experience, potentially gained within a production environment or similar field based role, would be highly beneficial.

Desirable skills include work on generators, compressors, pumps or marine vessels.

Previous industry backgrounds could include oil and gas, food and brewery food processing plants, power stations, marine or military.

You will be self-motivated, details orientated and numerate. You must be able to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, good organisation and planning and enjoy working alone.

Candidates must be able to spend several nights away from home as required and have a good level of physical fitness. A full, clean driving licence is also essential.

The role requires daily use of a laptop and iPhone (provided by the company) and it is essential that candidates are PC literate and comfortable using these technologies.

The three key base areas for these roles are Birmingham or Reading with any of the following locations being ideal;
Birmingham- Redditch, Solihull, Coventry, Leicester, Leamington Spa.
Bath. Reading - Wokingham, Camberley, Newbury, Maidenhead, Guildford
