Lifeguard Operations Quality Leads

£45,500 to £53,529 (dependent on experience) + Vehicle

Poole, Dorset

Our Lifeboat crews and Lifeguards need a dedicated, professional and talented team behind them so whatever the weather they can operate to the highest standards and save lives at sea.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lifeguard Operations Quality Lead to join our Operational Policy team. Operational Policy shapes the RNLI’s lifesaving and maritime policy, and also monitors operational performance.

You’ll be responsible for the auditing and improvement of maritime and lifeguarding standards across our lifeguarding service, as well as reporting on these standards, and working collaboratively and supportively to ensure our lifeguard units are compliant with both internal and external standards.

We are looking for someone with extensive Lifeguard and Lifeguard management experience, as well as knowledge of the beach risk assessment process and of the application of health and safety legislation and compliance. You will also hold (or have recently held) an internationally recognised Lifeguard qualification to training/examiner level and NEEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent H&S qualification/Audit and Assurance qualification.

As our ideal candidate, you will have a flexible approach to work, possess excellent interpersonal skills and can remain balanced and objective in difficult situations. You will be able to motivate and inspire, present a positive outlook, and have the gravitas to manage, lead, coach and mentor.

This post will cover RNLI Lifeguarded locations across the UK and Republic of Ireland. If successful, you will be required to spend nights away from home and the role will require extensive travel, therefore flexibility over working patterns is essential.

As this is a sea-going appointment, you will need to satisfy the institution's medical and eyesight standards. This post requires a valid driving licence.

There are also 5 x Maritime Operations Quality Lead roles available in various locations across the UK and Ireland. Please visit our website for further details and to apply.

If you have the necessary qualities, skills and experience, then we would love to hear from you. Please visit for more information and to apply online.

Closing date: 27 August 2018.

Interview date: w/c 24th September 2018.
