The Warsash School of Maritime Science and Engineering offers maritime education, training and consultancy to the marine industry across a variety of academic and professional disciplines.

As part of our significant investment in maritime training a new Maritime Simulation and Digital learning suite is being built. The School is now looking to recruit enthusiastic and experienced maritime professionals with seagoing and maritime teaching experience to join the Maritime Simulation team Group with special interest in Bridge Simulation, ECDIS, GMDSS and be part of a dynamic team. Individuals need to be able to take challenge of teaching diversified maritime courses.

Applicants for the full-time position must possess a minimum of STCW AII/2 Chief Mates Unlimited Certificate of Competency or relevant equivalent professional qualifications and experience. A good knowledge and understanding of modern merchant ship handling, navigation equipment and bridge operational procedures is essential. Experience of the Tugs, VTIS, DP, superyacht sector, offshore industry or Tanker would be an advantage.

Applications for this post are encouraged from persons with good sea going experience and preferably with some Simulator base teaching experience, Academic qualifications to degree level or academic background with research or teaching experience is desirable but not essential as the successful applicant will be supported in completing a Post Graduate teaching qualification. 

Some weekend / unsocial hours and UK/International travel may be required.
