My client is a leading provider of marine and offshore engineering consultancy services to the oil, gas, renewable energy, and shipping industries.

The role…

Working within a dedicated team of master mariners, naval architects and marine engineers, the role is a senior position to be based at the London office and will involve frequent site and offshore attendances on a worldwide basis. The role offers a challenging and varied workload with attractive remuneration and benefits being offered to the successful candidate. Travel and attendances offshore are a requirement of the job.
The key dimensions of the role include:
*Marine support to clients in all areas of offshore marine operations.
*The review of technical reports, procedures and marine studies.
*Attendance offshore as marine warranty surveyor during offshore construction projects.
*Attendance on site and the provision of approval for towage, load-out and transportation activities.
*Acting as client representative during offshore installation works.
*Risk analysis both quantitative and qualitative for offshore operations.
*The survey of vessels including OVID, IMCA CMID and MWS suitability inspections.
*The provision of in-house marine technical advice to engineers, naval architects and non-mariners.

The person…

*Master Mariner (Unlimited) STCW II/2 certificate of competency.
*Sea-going experience as Master or Chief Officer in the offshore oil, gas and renewable energy industries.
*Experience in heavy lift, pipelay, cable lay, DP, anchor handling, rig moving, towage or supply operations.
*A strong knowledge of Marine Warranty operations.
*An up to date knowledge of regulatory marine requirements, industry standards, practices, guidelines and methodologies.

Previous consultancy experience from similar role with exposure to marine warranty, marine consultancy, vessel suitability inspections and IMCA CMID/OVID accreditation is a distinct advantage.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

*The ability to work independently and as part of team.
